Are you curious about Alaska's summer?

This is a conversation I had with my daughter Yeseul. " Mother, Isn't it winter now?" "No, it is summer" "What? Is it this cold in summer? Then how do we live in winter?" Two days later after this conversation, God gave us the hot sunshine and the weather to wear short sleeves. Thank you Jesus.

Do you know the book called "Pineapple story"? I've read it before, and when I was in a ministry meeting with the leader's family, Lenard read the whole story of this book in a special way. It's a true story about seven years in Dutch New Guinea between the missionaries and the natives. To mission to the natives living in the remote areas, the missionary decided to bring pineapples into town and had one native plant 100 pineapples paying for that.
The missionaries gave salt and everything to natives and it took 3 years for the pineapples to make it. Three years later, he went to pick ripe pineapples with my wife, looking forward to it, but none of them were there. The native who stole the pineapples was paid to plant them. The missionary asked him why he stole the pineapples. "I planted it with my own hands, so it's natural for me to eat them." That's the law of the jungle, of the natives. If someone planted something, it would belong to the person who planted it. He didn't understand that he didn't have ownership because he was paid for his part.
-Omit below-
During July, there were some difficulties due to cultural differences and conflicts, and through this book, I was grateful because it seemed to make me realize how important it is to understand and know their cultures well before the ministry. White culture, Aboriginal culture, African culture(Kenyan living upstairs) and Korean culture. In these four cultures, we are learning today, asking God for wisdom, reading books and bumping into each other, I think these are the times we need.
🙏 So that I can learn various cultures well.
And not the superiority of any culture, but the laws of the kingdom of God that the Bible speaks of. I ask you to pray that we will apply it well in our lives and serve people humbly.

🥣 Smoked salmon soup
It's smoked salmon soup made by a native(Haida tribe) who is close to the leader's family and who smoked salmon themselves.
Photo on the left-Smokehouse(where salmom are smoked like the picture on the right) What does it taste like? You're curious, aren't you? It's my first time eating it. Soft taste with crab? The next time you come to Alaska, I'd like to give you the privilege of tasting it.
On this island, there are three native tribes Haida, Tsimsian, Tlingit. The size of the island is similar to that of Jeju island, with about half of the roads where the people can travel by cars, and there are four governments in the island(White government, Indigeneous government)
💐💐Thanks
-We are grateful that the natives' children we meet every Wednesday are open to my family.
-We thank God for letting Yeseul and Eunchul go to summer school for a month and finish it well.
-We are grateful that Joshua got the social security number well.
-Cruises's coming in, and we're seeing more and more Covid 19 patients and thank God for protecting us in the midst of that.
🙏 Specific prayer title
1. The international driver's license is valid for one year, so we have to get an Alaska driver's license. We have to study A4 size 94 pages in English, so please pray that God will give us wisdom so that we can pass it at once.
2. The number of people who have been infected with Covid 19 has suddenly increased. Perhaps because many people have been in and out of the island. Please pray that it will not increase anymore.
3. What I need the most while I'm here is proficiency in English. I've been preparing for it, but I feel I'm lacking a lot. Please pray for working and grace of Holy Spirit especially when preaching and leading the worship in English.
4. Yeseul and Eunchul have been going to local school as 4th and 2nd graders from August 30th. Please pray for them to grow up into childeren who love Jesus more so that they can meet good teachers and friends who understand our children well.
5. Lastly, I ask you to pray that when we live in various cultures(White, Native, and African culture), we can understand each culture well and love and serve the souls with the heart of the Lord.
💌 Every day here is new and every day there's so much to learn. That's why I have to ask God.. I must confess that I have lived by the grace of the Lord today.
🎼 God is the one who built me
God is the one who called me
God who sent me
Eveything that has become me is God's grace
So that I can run all the way
I'll do my last breath
You let me hold that cross
Everything that has become me is
God's grace
Unlimited grace, unrepayable grace
The grace of God that surrounds my life
Even if I step on the earth
without hesitation
The grace of God who holds me🎹
I pray that you who scattered all over the world will be strong today with the grace of God.💕
Thank you so much for always praying for my family. We will live on this island and share His love.
Thank you In Ketchikan,
Alaska In the cool summer
